Utilise expertise forged in one of the world’s toughest strategic environments…

Overview

I learnt my craft in one of the toughest environments in the world. So, I am ideally placed to do it all – improve your top line, bottom line, quality, employee satisfaction, the works!

I use a data driven approach based on available MI (Management Information). This means that methodology varies from business to business and project to project. However, I always use a ‘gateway’ system – working closely and collaboratively with your business to define stages of transformation and agree requirements for passing through the ‘gateways’ to each stage.

“There are those that talk well, and those that do well. Over the years I have learned there are many in the former camp, and far fewer in the latter. Luckily, I do both brilliantly.”

The Define Stage

During my initial assessment, I will discuss key metrics and objectives with stakeholders. I will then use what I have learned to draw up a plan including:

• Main areas of focus
• A timeline
• ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) of opportunities which could be realised within the focus and scope of the project (for example, Revenue, Margin, OTD, Quality)

Following this, I will work with stakeholders using the PDCA framework (Plan, Do, Check, Act)
to agree on the details of what will be done, the key deliverables, who is responsible for what, and so on.

Measure

Good data is key to any successful transformation project. I will use your business’ MI (Management Information) to inform transformation strategy – but don’t worry if your MI is of low quality! I am experienced at assessing business situations and gathering data.

Assess, Implement and Control

The next three steps of your transformation project will be heavily informed by how the first two stages went.

  1. After using your MI to measure key business characteristics, I will work with you to assess potential impacts, risks, benefits, opportunities, and outcomes.
  2. Once everyone is happy with what’s been agreed, we will move onto the implementation stage. This is usually very iterative, as changes are implemented continuously. To make sure that everything stays on track, we will continuously measure impacts and use findings to manage risks.
  3. Finally (and crucially) we will implement control measures. These will ensure that the benefits of your transformation project are properly embedded, and that the changes continue to generate positive impacts in the future.
